IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willie Mae
Jefferson
February 28, 1953 – September 12, 2020
Ms. Willie Jefferson, after 67 seasons of life, left this life for a life eternal on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from her home in Okmulgee.
On February 28, 1953 Robert and Pearlie Mae Walston were blessed with a beautiful baby girl in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. They named her Willie Mae Walston and she was the fifth and last child to this union.
Willie Mae grew up in Okmulgee and attended Okmulgee Public Schools. After completing her studies at Okmulgee High School and receiving her diploma in 1972, she worked for Ball Brothers Glass Manufacturing in Okmulgee.
Willie Mae enlisted in United States Army National Guard in 1977 and was honorably discharged in 1983. Willie Mae dealt with her health and difficult circumstances all throughout her life, but she kept her faith in GOD and He kept her safe.
Willie Mae enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved relaxing on her porch and playing dominoes. Willie Mae was a faithful Okmulgee Bulldogs football seasonal ticket holder. No matter what the weather conditions and long after her son JJ graduated, she attended every Friday night football game with her late husband Dwight Littlejohn (Festus), for over 20 years.
On September 12, 2020 Willie Mae was reunited in heaven with her parents, her brothers Alfred and "Big Bob" Walston, her sister Viola "Mum" Clark, her son Little Richard, and her daughter Terri.Willie Mae has left behind to keep her memory: her son Robert "JJ" Rentie, granddaughter Sierra, grandson Kendall, her brother Earnest Walston; two sisters-in-law Jerild "Dee" and Henryetta Walston of Tulsa; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A special thank you to Willie Mae's niece Cheryl Clark who loved and cared for her like a daughter would. Thank you to Christine Brown and the health care community that took care of Willie Mae in her final days.
The Hour of Remembrance for Ms. Jefferson will be on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Peace of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Okmulgee. Reverend Dewayne Scaife will officiate. The final salute will be on Monday, at 2:00 PM in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, with U. S. Army Military honors.
