Mr. Willie McPherson, after 96 years, joined his beloved Ruth in Paradise on Saturday morning, May 14, 2011 from Okmulgee.
Brother Willie McPherson was born on December 22, 1915 to Haskell McPherson and Mary (Met) Jones.
Brother McPherson attended Bryant School in Okmulgee County. He married Sister Ruth L. [Smith] McPherson in 1937 and they were married for 73 years. Sister Ruth went home to be with the Lord on November 9, 2010.
Besides his wife, Brother McPherson was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Juanita (Clarence) White.
Brother McPherson accepted Christ at an early age and if you came into contact with him, you would know that he was a Bible scholar and loved to reflect on the goodness of God and what God had done in his life. One of his favorite sayings was—
"One thing about it, we must be born again; born of the Spirit and washed in the blood..for without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin."
Brother McPherson loved to fish and hunt. He also had a long career with American Window Glass Company.
Brother McPherson leaves to cherish his memory many cousins, nieces and nephews, many friends, and his church family at St. Mary's Christian Center. We will certainly miss Brother McPherson but know that he is now in the presence of the Lord God Almighty
