On a cloudy day on January 10, 1961, Winston Bernard Wallace was the fifth of six children born to Irene Rawlings.
He grew up in the community of Taft, OK. He attended Cummings Cole CME Church.
Bernard graduated with the Class of 1979 from Moton High School in Taft. His hobbies were fishing and hunting. His love and passion was playing basketball. Bernard started playing team basketball at Moton Junior High and continued playing in high school and became one of the most outstanding players during his time. Bernard was a fierce competitor on the court under the late Coach Alex Bo Springs. He mastered shots just across half-court and the slam dunk. He was an Allstate pick in 1979, where he was highly sought after by many colleges and attended Northeastern State University and the University of Central Oklahoma.
He worked for Flintco Construction for many years. Afterwards, he poured concrete for several local companies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene Rawlings and Sherman Wallace; brother, Leonard Crowder; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Mr. Winston B. Wallace in his 62nd season of life, entered into Life Everlasting on Thursday, January 4, 2024 in Muskogee, Ok.
He leaves his children, Kinitra (Shannon) Lang of Farmington, AR, Ihresha (Shawn Sr.) Gandy of Haskell, OK, and James (Tami) Smith of Taft, OK; grandchildren, Kierra Lang, Everett Lang III, Shawn Gandy, Jr., James Smith, Jr., Captain Earl Smith, Gage Smith, and Caprice Smith; great-grandson, Reazon Williams; sisters, Doretha (Lester) Beasley and Egaila Hanks; and brothers, Earnest (Brenda) White, Vincent Thompson, and Micheal (Aretha) Pierce.
The Celebration of Life for Winston will commence on Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Eleventh Hour in the most holy sanctuary of Harvest Ministries where Reverend Roscoe Beasley will officiate, and Pastor Lester Beasley is the Eulogist.
You may visit Mr. Wallace, as he slumbers in peaceful repose on Thursday, January 11, 2024 between the hours of 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Muskogee.
