Obituary

On November 12, 1934 a precious package was delivered to the late Albert Hill, Sr., and Erma Elliott Hill. It was the fourth of thirteen children born to the union. They named their brand new baby boy Worlie Winston. He received his early education at Lone Tree School and graduated from Wheatley High School in Boynton, Oklahoma. Upon graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. Afterwards, he attended classes at the University of Southern California with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Accounting. Worlie Winston's job experience covered a wide range of occupations, including teaching, accounting, tax preparation, law enforcement, taxi and school bus driving, merchandising, and most recently he turned one his most beloved hobbies into a job: carpentry.

"Winston" accepted Christ at an early age. In 1979, he accepted the Lord's divine call to become a minister of the gospel, receiving his ministerial license that year and his ordination six months later. He was a minister and former pastor at both Cane Creek and Lone Tree Baptist Churches. In addition to his devotion at Lone Tree Baptist Church as a minister, Sunday school teacher, Bible study teacher and choir member, he cherished every opportunity to received to share the gospel at other churches in Okmulgee and surrounding areas. His dedication to the body of Christ also included his memmbership in The Okmulgee Prayer Band.

On October 5, 2009 after a life filled with many trials and victories, Winston gained his greatest triumph and went Home to be with the Lord. His memory will remain in the hearts of his loving family; his two sons: David Hill (LaTarsha) and LaRandall Hill, three daughters: Vanessa Young, Varetta Hill, and Lettye Hill, six brothers: Alberty Hill, Jr. (Dorothy), Alfred Hill (Margaret), Bill Hill, Allen Hill, John Hill (Felicia), and Ray Hill, six sisters: Elreatha Lee, Doris Hill, Carlene Gilchrist, Joyce Baird, JoAnn Fennell, and Anita Hill, 7 grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives, and friends.

Services for Mr. Hill will be Saturday October 10, 2009 at 10:30AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Okmulgee under the direction of Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc. Visitation for Mr. Hill will be from 12Noon to 6PM in Okmulgee. Flowers may be sent during this time.
