Ms. Yvonne Montgomery, formerly of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, left us from San Antonio, Texas in her 85th year.

Yvonne Phyllis Montgomery, affectionately known as (Bonnie), was born June 11,1936 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Mrs. Montgomery was a devoted wife and loving mother to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Yvonne was united in holy matrimony to Parnell Montgomery. To this union were eight children. Bonnie Walker of Hawaii, Laura, Larry and Charlene Montgomery, all of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Sharon, Eleanor, Belinda, Parnella Montgomery, and a special daughter Sheureka Montgomery all of San Antonio, Texas.

Yvonne was a faithful member of Eastside COGIC and a good steward as secretary of Sunday School. While residing in San Antonio, she continued to work in the vineyard at West End COGIC.

Yvonne worked tirelessly in Environmental Services at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital until her retirement.
Because of her love and passion for people after retirement, she became a loving caring nurse and caregiver. She was loved by many.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband Parnell Montgomery, her Father, William (Bill) Pickens, her Mother, Phyllis Williams, a Sister, Ruth Bush and two brothers.

Mrs. Montgomery leaves to cherish her memory eight children, a special daughter and a Sister Deweyetta Rogers of Detroit, Michigan. Two Sister-in-laws, Rosa Lee Atkinson and Jean Montgomery, both of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Mrs. Montgomery also leaves to cherish their loving memories are her grandchildren, Chiquita, Patricia, Dysheika, Bryce, Larry Jr. and Antonio. Those adorable great-grands, Kenon, Tristan, Brydon, Shevonney, Jonae,Asia, Kai'lani, Camiyah, Raziyah,Amiah, Kaden, and baby Roberson. One great, great-grand, Jonasia; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The Sacred Farewell for Mrs. Montgomery will commence on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Dunbar Middle School Gymnasium.  Elder Booker T. Mangum, Pastor of the Eastside Church of God in Christ, will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Okmulgee.
