Master Zachary Ray Griffis, after 15 months, "Took Flight With Angels" on Friday evening, November 28, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Zachary Ray Griffis died Friday, November 28th, 2014 at his home in Muskogee, OK. At just 15 months of age, Zack succumbed to brain cancer. He courageously battled but in the end the most effective weapons employed were not medicine but love and comfort. Zack lived the last days of his life slumbering peacefully in the embrace of his parents caring arms and surrounded by loving family and friends.
Zack was born on a rainy day on August 12th, 2013. Because of his native heritage and the Indian belief that turtles brought the rain, Zack was nicknamed "Turtle". Together Zack and his two brothers formed what their mom affectionately called her "Three Musketeers".
Zack's big blue eyes and bright smiles lit up the entire room. He loved playing with his family and his favorite game to play was "Steal Daddy's Hat". Zack enjoyed animals and liked to love on his puppy dog,Tux, and his cat, Socks.
Zachary is survived by his parents Sarah and Raymond Griffis and two big brothers Joseph (5) and Jayden (3) all of the home. Survivors also include his maternal grandparents, paternal grandmother and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Family and friends will join to celebrate the life of sweet baby Zack at Boulevard Christian Church in Muskogee, OK on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Gary Ripley will officiate and the Interpreter is Jamie Combs.
